The WISE Cleveland Board of Directors serves as a leadership team connecting WISE members to the best programs, while providing outstanding content and interactive events that spur career and personal growth. Board Members offer guidance, support and serve as the source of planning a platform of events for the chapter.

CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS
Lauren Harris – President
Undergraduate: Temple University, Bachelors of Science – Sports Management, Minor – Spanish
Lauren M. Harris is an Event Manager for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC). Lauren oversees the planning and execution of multiple created and collegiate events throughout the year. In addition, Lauren also serves as the Internship Program coordinator where she has received recognition from the Northeast Ohio Council of Higher Education as Best Small Internship Program in 2013 and Best Mentor in 2014. In her spare time, Lauren manages the Cleveland Browns Official DJ, DJ Ryan Wolf, in addition to serving as the President of Lifeline Sports. Lauren currently sits on the board of Burten, Bell, Carr Development and Women In Sports & Events, and is an active member of The National Association of Black Sports Professionals- Cleveland Chapters. She currently resides in Cleveland Heights however, spends most of her free time traveling the world.
Katrina Homer – Vice President/Chair of WISE Within
Undergraduate: Syracuse University, Bachelor of Science in Communications and Rhetorical Studies, Minor in Marketing
Katrina has been with the American Liver Foundation since 2011. In her role as the Executive Director, she oversees the staff and volunteer leadership of the Heartland Division that serves Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The organization is the leading voice of patients and their families affected by liver disease. The ALF provides patient support services, hosts community and medical professional education programs, funds medical research, and plans large-scale fundraising events like the Liver Life Walk, Flavors, and Liver Life Challenge.
In her free time, Katrina and her husband enjoy traveling, biking, supporting other local non-profits through volunteer work and event attendance, visiting the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, cooking, and dining out. She authors the Cleveland-based blog, Bite Buff, where she shares her dining experiences, promotes local events, posts recipes, and reviews products.
Lauren Hoyer – Chapter Secretary/Administration
Lauren is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the College of Business Administration with a focus in Marketing Management and a minor in Sports Management at the Univeristy of Akron. She is currently the Race Operations Intern at the Akron Marathon. Lauren is from North Olmsted, Ohio and graduated from Magnificat High School.
Virnette House-Browning – Governance Chair
Undergraduate: Bowling Green State University, Bachelor of Science in Biology
Graduate: Master of Arts, College Student Personnel
Virnette has been employed at Cleveland State University since August of 2011 and is the Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Affairs. She is in direct oversight for the CSU’s external relations operations, including sports information, marketing, promotions, ticketing, fundraising and the Viking Club. In addition, she serves as the sport administrator for women’s basketball, women’s cross country, men’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis.
She currently reside in Westlake, OH and has a 10-year old daughter, Aidan. Virnette grew up in nearby Wooster, OH
Sue Brady – Luncheon Chair
Storytelling. It’s what Sue has specialized in for almost 20 years. From both in front of and behind the camera, she has produced major corporate and sporting events around the globe. Her vast experience working with ESPN on the Indy Car Racing Series and Monday Night Football made her a much sought after producer. In the corporate world, Sue spent several years as Executive Producer for Procter and Gamble’s C-Suite executives, producing global broadcasts, analyst meetings, galas and fashion shows with the likes, Queen Latifah, Tim Gunn, Jewel and Lindsey Vonn.
Sue’s diverse skillset culled from the worlds of television, sports and corporate production helped her lead the production of two major EventEx award winning events for the 2013 National Senior Games. Also sitting on her shelf are many other awards for Technical Production.
In addition to holding an MBA, she has also been a member of the Ohio Valley Chapter Board of Governors, serves as Co-Executive Producer for the EMMY® Awards show and is even an EMMY® nominee herself.
A Cleveland native and graduate of Cleveland State University, Sue is the owner and president of BAMM, BadAss Media & Meetings. She now resides in Columbus with her husband Shane and the “kids” Chance, Yogi and Ernie.
Shanette D. Buford-Brazzell – Membership Chair
Shanette D. Buford-Brazzell is a young professional who rocks. She is a young and upcoming event planning/management and community relations professional, who is enhancing her career in many ways. Shanette is a Special Events Manager for United Way of Greater Cleveland. In her position, she oversees the development, planning, and execution of all United Way special events such as the Annual Meeting, campaign kickoff, Hometown Huddle, leadership donor’s recognition events, and other ancillary events. She also oversees engagement opportunities for the organization and events and work to increase revenue from existing events through sponsorships.
She’s passionate about giving back, making an impact in the community, youth lives, and spreading awareness about causes she’s passionate about. Shanette is heavily involved in the community. She currently holds numerous volunteer leadership positions: Fundraising Committee Co-chair with Ronald McDonald House Cleveland Ambassador Council, member of Cleveland State University Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council and Black Alumni Organization.
Shanette is an active member of The National Association of Black Sports Professionals – Cleveland Chapter, Women In Sports & Events-Cleveland Chapter, where she’s a member of the Programming Committee, and a provisional member of Junior League Cleveland.
Ashley Collins – Programming Chair
Ashley Collins has worked at SportsTime Ohio since 2007. She is currently the co-host of Fox Sports Ohio’s Drennan Live, a daily live Cleveland based sports talk show which airs Monday-Thursday from 4:30-6:30. She is also a sideline reporter for OHSAA playoff and State Championship games.
She provides interviews with all local Cleveland teams as well as in-game updates Indians TV broadcasts on SportsTime Ohio. She also used to host a Cleveland sports based trivia show called “Beer Money.”
She attended Lake Catholic High School in Mentor Ohio and studied marketing at Kent State University.
Ashley, who currently resides in Lakewood, loves all Cleveland Sports, cooking, shopping and anything outdoors!
Jayme Kish – Membership Chair
Undergraduate: Bowling Green State University, B.A. 2008; Sport Management and
Graduate: Cleveland State University, MBA; Finance (currently attending)
Jayme Kish has been with Fox Sports Ohio for five years; she is currently the Production and Operations Administrator with Fox Sports Ohio.
In this capacity, Jayme is responsible for financial operations, payroll, crew coordination for Fox Sports Ohio/Sportstime Ohio games/events, and the facilitation of transmission windows via satellite and fiber for all
LIVE events. Prior to this responsibility, she handled all aspects of Fox Sports Ohio network programming.
In addition, Jayme is an active member of WISE Cleveland. During the past three years she has served on the Programming and Golf Committees. Jayme is also an active member of the Junior League of
Cleveland and is serving as a Chair in 2015.
Jayme is a native of Brecksville, Ohio and currently resides in Lakewood, OH.
Paulette Welch – Membership Chair
Paulette Welch, a native of Springfield, OH and a longtime Cleveland resident, has over 25 years’ experience in organizational administration, communications and marketing with an emphasis on athletics with universities, high schools and non-profit organizations. Currently she works for the Baseball Heritage Museum located at historic League Park where she seeks out and engages in opportunities to promote the small museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of diversity in baseball. In addition, Paulette is a freelance writer/editor/sports statistician and works with four northeast Ohio high schools – Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, Elyria Catholic, University School and Walsh Jesuit – in various capacities.
She also has worked as a marketing assistant at the Cleveland Metroparks, primarily as the editor of The Emerald Necklace, and as the Sports Information Director at Cleveland State University publicizing the school’s student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Paulette has been involved with many NCAA Championship events, which includes serving as the host media coordinator for NCAA National Championships in wrestling and women’s volleyball as well as the first men’s basketball first & second rounds ever held in Cleveland in 2000.
Paulette currently works at the Baseball Heritage Museum and is a freelance writer, editor and sports statistician. Paulette, who loves to promote Cleveland every chance she gets, has been a member of WISE since it’s early days and currently serves on the Communications Committee. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University, and her Master’s in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University (Fla.).
Colleen Weston – Marketing Chair
Colleen Weston is the Marketing Director for Britton Gallagher, a privately held insurance broker in Cleveland, Ohio that specializes in niche programs such as professional athletes and entertainers, pyrotechnics, amusements, life sciences, management liability along with employee benefits and property and casualty.
In her current role, Colleen is responsible for all agency marketing programs, brand management and corporate sponsorships. She also has implemented new strategies to optimize prospect and customer engagement and supports client acquisition programs.
Throughout her career, she has successfully been able to leverage effective and engaging content to generate profitable relationships for brands, products and services.
Prior to joining Britton Gallagher, she worked as a Content Strategist for Aztek Web Marketing, focusing on content creation, implementation and evaluation for numerous clients. Colleen has also spent time in the manufacturing sector, executing marketing strategies to create brand exposure and effectively engage target customer segments.
Colleen serves on the board of directors and as the Development Committee Chairperson for Malachi Center, a local Cleveland non-profit focused on providing services to the homeless and underprivileged youth.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising communications from Gannon University. Colleen lives with her husband, their four children in Lake County, Ohio.
